National Resilience Course

The formulation of Nasional Resilience Course began in Apr 2019 after JPP meeting had decided to appoint NDUM as the academic service provider. The collaboration process between the initial Faculty Team and the NDUM staff were conducted extensively in order to meet the dateline by Aug 2019 prior to the first course to be ready to commence. Several meetings and discussions were held to ensure the detailed program and budget could fit the objectives of the course based on the laid out course outcomes

Program Design

The contents of approximately 52 weeks of coursework and field research and divided into 4 semesters with 1 module per semester as follows:

  • Semester 1 - Module 1 (Diplomatic, Political and Economic Studies)

​

  • Semester 2 - Module 2 (Regional and International Security Studies)

​

  • Semester 3 - Module 3 (Defence and Policy Studies)

​

  • Semester 4 - Module 4 (National Power Practicum)

Course Objectives

  • To develop Course Members strategic vision

​

  • To enhance Course Members knowledge of the elements of national power

​

  • To reinforce Course Members understanding of Malaysia's institution, society and domestic factors that have shaped, or are shaping strategic thoughts and the practice of security and other public policies

​

  • To enhance Course Members knowledge of the current and future regional and international geostrategic outlook, and their implications to Malaysia's interest

​

  • To establish and nurture networking among Course Members and the various agencies involved in the course

​

​

Course Outcome

It is intended that an NRC Course Members will able to:

​

  • Understand strategic issues in the national and international context and be skilled in analysing their impact on national security, stability and prosperity

​

  • Work across national, culture and ideological boundaries to lead or contribute to developing policies and strategies at the grand strategic level

​

  • Formulate and propose/promote national policies and strategies
